3D laser scanning (also known as terrestrial laser scanning or LiDAR survey) is a non-contact optical measurement technology that captures the exact physical shape, dimensions, and geometry of an environment.

During a scan, millions of individual laser points are emitted per second. By measuring the time it takes for the laser beam to reflect back from surrounding surfaces (walls, pipes, structural steel, facades, and equipment), the scanner generates a dense 3D Point Cloud.

This point cloud acts as a complete, dimensionally accurate 3D spatial map of the scanned area, capturing even the most complex geometric details with total clarity.
